The coal mines in Heilongjiang are mainly operated by Heilongjiang Longmei Mining Group (and its holding group), which is the largest local state-owned enterprise in Heilongjiang Province and also the largest coal enterprise in Northeast China (eastern Inner Mongolia). It is one of the three major coking coal production bases in China.
